About City
Abu Dhabi is the federal capital and center of government in the United Arab Emirates sits off the mainland on an island in the Persian (Arabian) Gulf. It is the largest city of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and one of the most modern cities in the world.

But the city also makes a good base for excursions to the desert landscapes of Liwa Oasis and the oasis city of Al Ain.
